San Giovanni Rotondo

The name of this town is indossolubly linked to the figure of Father Pio of Pietralcina, a monk with an incomparable personality, who was proclaimed a saint in 2002. The tomb of the friar with the stigmata , his cell and places dear to him, are the destination of visitors from all over the world. To welcome the millions of dovetees who come here every year to worship at the saints tomb, the great Church of Saint Pio was built by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano and inaugurated in 2004. Monte Sant'Angelo

Tradition tells us that around the end of the 5th century, right here, in one of the many natural caves that dot the territory, appeared Saint Michael the archangel. This marked the holy fate of this place , which had already become during the Lombardy era , an important stop on the Via Sacra Micaelica, the medieval religious journey from Mount Saint Michael that led the faithful to the holy land. The sanctuary, considered to be the oldest place of Saint Michael worship in the West, was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2011. We organise:

Peschici

The historic part of this seaside resort has old –fashioned charm, with its cobbled streets, small squares and flights of steps leading down to the sea. The rows of low, whitewashed houses capped with small grey domes give it a strange, slightly oriental feel. Built on a rocky cliff rising up out of the sea, the town’s foundation in 970 by Slav soldiers, sent here to counter the threat posed by Saracen pirates. In the centre of the old town you can see The Mother Church, dedicates to St Elias was founded in the 13th century and the medieval castle situated behind the walls of the so-colled recinto baronale (Baronial enclosure). Vico del Gargano

Only a few kilometres from the coast, this town sits on a hill amid the citrus groves and the gloriously lush Umbra Forest. The old town, which still looks mediaeval, has three districts – Civita, Terra e Casale – a labyrinth of steps and narrow alleyways. The historic centre features a number of 18th noble palaces and several churches. An old underground olive press now houses the Trappeto Maratea Museum, illustring how olives are traditionally processed to produce olive oil. On the subject of citrus fruit, the Gargano orchards are famous , especially in this area. Many varieties have IGP status. We organise:

Manfredonia e Siponto

Situated in the foot of Gargano and at the end of the wide gulf , the city takes is named after King Manfredi who founded it in 1256. The cathedral is in the historical centre and was erected in 1680, after the destruction of the preceding Gothic church ath the hands of the Turks. The castle , a fine example of military architecture and constructed by King Manfredi is now the National Archeological museum of Gargano. Just outside the city is Siponto, the oldest diocese of Gargano. It was historically the most important sea port in the north of Puglia. There is an archeological site of great prestige and it boasts the Sanctuary of Santa Maria Maggiore and the paleochristian basilica.In 2016 a Milanese artist , Edoardo Tresoldi, recreated the basilica in a lightweight permanent structure.
